Open Season

So long summer, EVENT SEASON officially opens. Grab your totes and comfy shoes and soak up the splendor of design! Here are just a few happenings within the next couple weeks that you won't want to miss.

Today through Sept. 25
This first-ever fest brings forth a whole sleu of Seattle's über talented architects and designers. For a week+, you can catch more than 30 events (ticket-based and free) all over town including speakers, tours, activities, and more. Major kudos to everyone involved in putting it together—the whole effort makes me proud to be a Pacific Northwesterner and Seattleite (which makes up for today's "Stay Away from Seattle Day")!

Saturday, Sept. 17
You'll certainly want to make time for this ... 60+ vendors filling the parking lots in front of Terris Draheim and Seattle Design Center with designer furnishings, accessories, and more. And, the kicker is that all this fun is for a good cause! Proceeds go to support Seattle Children's Playgarden. 10am-3pm, corner of 6th Ave. S. & Orcas in Georgetown. Be there!

Sept. 29–Oct. 2
Design | Art | Architecture
See the latest and greatest contemporary, cutting edge and original residential design during IDSwest. Held at the new Vancouver Convention Centre in B.C., this forum is the place to shop, learn, and especially ... to be inspired. The excitement begins with keynote speaker Ross Lovegrove on Thurs. night and continues with exhibits, design competitions and installations—such as Tom Dixon Pub by Inform Interiors, and many brilliantly innovative ideas by young designers.
