Now through February 12, 2012, the Bellevue Arts Museum shines the spotlight on one of the seminal figures in American Modernism with the exhibition,"George Nelson: Architect, Writer, Designer, Teacher."
"Featuring more than 220 objects, including furniture, lamps, clocks, graphic works, architectural models, films, prints and a full-scale partial reconstruction of the 1959 American National Exhibition in Moscow, this retrospective renders a comprehensive portrait of Nelson and his many activities, acknowledging his prominent position in the world of design over nearly four decades." -BAM website

This retrospective was compiled by the Vitra Design Museum in 2008 to celebrate the year George Nelson would have turned 100 years old, and the BAM is the first museum in the Pacific Northwest to host the exhibition. Bravo to the BAM--we would love even more design-related exhibits to come to the Northwest from now on!
