The Chicest Stay in Ballard

You may remember the article we did in our third issue about the charming Ballard Inn (formerly known as Ballard Hotel), located in the heart of the historic Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. Here’s a link to the feature just in case you missed it. The owners Jim and Debera Riggle are at it again, this time opening the luxurious Hotel Ballard, located adjacent to the Olympic Athletic Club and Stoneburner (both of which the Riggle’s own—the Athletic Club was renovated as they built the hotel), the neighborhood’s hottest new restaurant. Keep an eye out—Stoneburner will be featured in an upcoming issue of GRAY!

Officially opened at the beginning of this summer, Hotel Ballard has 29 guest rooms and suites, as well as a rooftop pavilion and event space with breathtaking views and outdoor fire pits. Lagerquist & Morris AIA designed the building, and all of the interior design work was done by Riggle—careful attention was paid to every detail, from the striking 19th century oil painting of a lion and rabbits that hangs over the concierge desk, to the sophisticated palettes of charcoal, gold, and cream. Each of the four floors of the hotel pays homage to a different Scandinavian country with artwork depicting each of the country’s national anthems and a tiny flag. Take a mini tour through the pictures below, or make a visit yourself. Hotel Ballard is located at 52016 Ballard Ave. N.W., Seattle.
